In the spare time you can pleasantly walk
riding or using mountain bike, playing bowls and bows, swimming,
harvesting wild vegetables, taking part in the agricultural activities
of the farm, such as the growing, the fresh milk and the preparation for
cheeses.
The farm has a classical, local, simple and tasty Mediterranean cookery,
with generous starters which exalt the biological production of the farm,
with delicate first courses of fresh homemade pasta and main courses
with genuine meat from local farming. It offers seasonal products which
are dressed with the ancient natural dressing, the exclusive local olive
oil.
Ceramics is on the plates for dishes and on the jugs for the wine
produced by the farm through hundred-year old varieties of grapes, such
as “Nerello” and “Nero D’Avola” just taken from the wooden barrels.
You can taste seasonal fruits such as the typical and tasty grapes,
apples and water melon, figs, peaches, red oranges, prickly pears and
other typical Sicilian fruits.
Among the typical dishes: “I Cavati del Casale” with pistachios and
almonds, homemade pasta with soft cheese (ricotta) and wild asparagus or
with “macco” (Sicilian cream of broad beans) and the tastiest
“Cassatelle di ricotta” as typical sweet in Caltagirone.
At the end of the meals the farm offers typical sweets as the
“Cassatelle di ricotta” , the “collorelle”, and Easter “Cassatelle”.
In the farm there is a small laboratory where milk becomes typical
Sicilian cheeses.
